Early Development

Welcome to the Toddler Community

Our Toddler Community, designed for children ages 18 months to 2.5 years, provides a warm and engaging environment tailored to young learners. In this classroom, children develop independence, confidence, and early social skills while exploring materials that cater to their natural curiosity. The Montessori approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed exploration, and respect for each child’s unique developmental path. Through activities that develop motor skills, language, and social connections, children are supported in discovering their potential within a community that encourages both freedom and responsibility.

Our Toddler Community Goals

Foundational Growth

In the Toddler Community, our primary objective is to cultivate self-confidence, autonomy, and an intrinsic love for learning. The prepared environment provides a space where children feel valued, respected, and capable. Activities are designed to help toddlers make independent choices, fostering a sense of control and self-assurance.

Building Essential Skills

Our focus is on nurturing fine and gross motor skills through Practical Life activities, such as pouring, sorting, and organizing. These exercises not only enhance coordination but also help children develop concentration and patience. Language development is also prioritized through storytelling, songs, and guided conversations that expand vocabulary and expression.

Encouraging Social Growth

Social interactions are key in our Toddler Community. Children learn to express themselves, share, and cooperate within a respectful, collaborative environment. With guidance from teachers, they begin to navigate friendships and interpersonal connections, laying a foundation for strong social skills as they grow.

A Day in the Toddler Community

Engaging and Structured

Each day in the Toddler Community is carefully structured to provide a balance of routine and variety, engaging children in activities that stimulate growth across all areas of development. Our daily schedule includes opportunities for individual and group work, exploration of Montessori materials, and moments for creativity and play.

Healthy Meals and Snack Time

Building Healthy Habits

Nutrition is a valued part of the Toddler Community, where mealtime and snack time offer learning opportunities beyond just eating. Toddlers participate in setting up, cleaning, and engaging in routines that promote self-sufficiency. Through these activities, children not only learn practical skills but also develop a sense of responsibility and respect for food and the mealtime experience.

Encouraging Social Interaction

Mealtime is a social experience where teachers and students enjoy nutritious food together. Teachers model and encourage conversations about healthy eating, fostering an understanding of the nutritional value of foods. These experiences reinforce a positive approach to food and support the development of social and language skills.
